Your Bolin Webb Razor
What is special about a Bolin Webb razor?
A Bolin Webb razor is designed for excellent handling performance as well as for its look-and-feel. Our razors are sleek and hygienic, and allow good shaving control through the handle’s elliptical design and elastomer grip. They are fitted with Gillette razor blade cartridges for superior shaving performance.
Which razor should I choose?
The R1 razor is fitted with a 3-blade Gillette Mach3 cartridge and the X1 razor is fitted with a 5-blade Gillette Fusion5 ProGlide cartridge. The 3-blade cartridge is more suitable for sensitive skin, while the 5-blade cartridge gives a closer shave.
If you already use a Gillette blade, then the choice is comparatively easy.
What is special about the Gillette blade?
Both Gillette Mach3 and Gillette Fusion5 blades feature precision-sharpened and coated blades. Both are fitted with a Microfin skinguard that gently stretches your skin to reduce the risk of cuts and nicks.
Fusion5 also includes a guard bar that smoothens your skin before the blade, and comes with MicroComb technology which helps to channel hair to the blades, holding them upright to ensure a clean pass first time. Fusion5 also includes a single precision trimming blade.
Which skincare products should I use with Bolin Webb razors?
Any shaving cream, foam or gel can be used with Bolin Webb razors. The choice of skincare product will depend on the shaver’s personal preference.
How do I keep my razor clean?
Razor handles and their Bolin Webb accessories case can all be washed with soap or detergent in warm water using a cloth or brush.
Which razor is best for sensitive skin?
All Gillette Mach3 and Fusion5 blades feature anti-friction blade technology – reducing the risk of discomfort during your shave.
Online reviews suggest that fewer blades in contact with the skin can reduce the risk of skin irritation. As such, the Bolin Webb R1 razor, with the three-blade Mach3 cartridge, can provide a gentler shave than the Bolin Webb X1 razor, with the five-blade Fusion5 cartridge.
How often should I change my blade?
The frequency with which you should change your blade depends very much on you as an individual shaver. Everybody will have different shaving behaviour from the amount you shave, the thickness of your facial hair, skin sensitivity, the skincare products you use and so on.
If your razor is still in good condition, you shouldn’t have to force your strokes or apply a lot of pressure – light, smooth strokes should be sufficient, and the razor should be doing most of the work. If this doesn’t seem to be the case for your razor, it may be time for you to replace your blade with a new one.
Where can I find replacement blades?
Replacement blades can be found in all major supermarkets and pharmacies around the world, as well as online here. The R1 razor can take any Gillette Mach3 cartridge model and the X1 razor can take any Gillette Fusion cartridge model (ProGlide or other).
There are several five-blade Fusion5 variations available in-store and online that can fit the Bolin Webb X1 razor. Bolin Webb fits its X1 razors with Fusion5 ProGlide blades, with their enhanced lubrication strip for a still smoother shave.
